Vietnamese Hawaiian American Wedding
in Dusty Rose & Lavender
Wedding Traditions
Kim + John began their wedding day with a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony. They took this time to formally introduce the grooms family to the brides family and show respect to their elders for all the love and sacrifice they extended to them, to mold them in to the people they are. In Vietnam this ceremony is how everyone is married but Kim and John meshed their cultures together and still had a more Americanized wedding ceremony that afternoon.
The couple got ready at the Hale Koa Hotel, where their dresses hung on beautiful hangers they made themselves. Kim looked stunning in a strapless lacey gown adorned with a crystal belt to bring everything together.
Kim held a beautifully crafted bouquet from Lin's Lei Shop complete with a photo charm of her father.
They shared a touching first look, then they were married surrounded by greenery and coconut trees at Hale Koa Hotel.
They shared personalized vows and took time out of their ceremony to 'Lei' their new in-laws, a Hawaiian tradition to symbolize love, respect, and appreciation.
After their first kiss as husband and wife their guests blew bubbles at them as they returned down the aisle. They proceeded to capture some photos together on the beach while the sun set, then made their grand entrance in to a gorgeous rose pink themed reception.
Their name cards were adorned with rhinestones and the centerpieces were pink stained mason jars wrapped in lace holding an array of flowers. They enjoyed their first evening together as newlyweds and took part in the fun first dance, bouquet and garter toss, and cake cutting traditions.
They ended the evening surrounded by their favorite people.
